A thought or two tonight
Leave Idaho tomorrow
Bend Oregon
The destination
Heart heavy feeling sorrow
My brother Mike
His breath now shallow
Long was active
Strong and fit
Not always friends
Long since amends
The illness seen
Twelve years ago
Has followed expectation
A call tomorrow
Might change direction

And what now of Pat
Seen last long past
One fourth of
One tenth of
A millenium
Ago
Little cheer here
She walked away
In snow and cold
Not dressed for it
Her choice and her decision
Would we all had that
My sister
No longer
Part of life
Yet not gone either

Last in family
Youngest
Says it better
We have not spoken
In many years
That business
Of Dad's death
Parted well enough but perhaps
Parted forever seen not since
I'm headed now where she may live
If she lives there still
I may see her
There and then
And once again
Nothing good may come of this
But maybe something might
