25-jun-19 - Weaverville
My left hand is swollen, can't do much so I've been walking through the town, about a mile and a half, one flashing stop sign, no traffic light, 3600 people, headlines say 85 graduated high school this week.

Talked to the DMV, they can talk to you in these small towns, still, South Dakota looks like the best option...IF I can get over the Rockies??? Will stick with the I-80, no side trips, empty water tanks, travel steep grades in cooler morning, drop to 2nd, 1st? gear, have AAA Motorhome Towing. - maybe call for advice. More planning.
All the old mining towns have some rather impressive old mining equipment around, this one also has The Joss House, "The Temple of the Forest Beneath the Clouds"), a Taoist temple, because of a number of Chinese Miners during the gold rush days.
I'm a bit down because of the hand injury, can't drive, can't play guitar, will I ever be able to? Hard to do things in an RV when you have both hands, let alone one that's painful every time you use it. Will I be able to get the auto AC working in Redding? And what about getting over the mountains, getting registered, Do I want to continue if I can't play guitar? etc. At least another day here, the swelling is going down and I'll be finding out how serious the injury is over the next month or so.
Well at least the weather has been good, much cooler for the next few days and the RV AC works when the weather gets hot and there is power.

Joss House
Blacksmith
Rock Crushing Machinery - The original discoveries had been washed out of the mountains into stream beds by nature, later on, mining the rock for more took a lot of this kind of machinery, Good museum pieces and still impressive.
